REGISTRATION INFO

Signup for girls lacrosse in grades 1st thru 8th starts Sunday, Jan 22nd, 2012.

Registrations can be made in person or mailed to Western Springs Recreation Center, 1500 Walker Street, 60558

or

faxed  to 708-246-1309

GIRLS SPRING 2012 LACROSSE LEAGUES for 3rd - 8th grade

will take place on March 4th 2012 at the Lombard store.

 

The coupon above entitles everyone to an additional 15% discount on items with Dicks Any Day coupon for a total savings of 25%. All other items on March 4th will be 15% off with coupon above. 

 

GIRLS HOUSE LEAGUE for 3rd - 8th grade girls This is a league run by women in lacrosse who want to help girls reach their potential in a fun and safe environment. The goals of the program are to understand the rules of lacrosse, active teamwork, sportsmanship, and fostering personal development in a respectful environment led by positive coaching. All players will receive equal playing time and will be played in all positions.

  • Games on Sundays between 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm @ various locations including Spring Rock Park & Katherine Legge Memorial Park in Hinsdale
  • Practices on Mondays starting April 16th at Spring Rock Park in Western Springs from 6:00 pm – 7:30pm
  • Schedules, rosters, practice & game locations and weather cancellations will be posted by Illinois Girls Lacrosse Association  (IGLA) on  www.iglax.org. visit periodically for updates
  • Season starts week of April 16th and ends June 10th
  • Required equipment for girls – Lacrosse stick, mouth guard, protective eye wear and soccer cleats or tennis shoes. Go to www.iglax.org for general equipment information. Equipment packages are available for purchase.

Registration is a two step process:

1.   Western Springs Recreation Department Registration after Jan 22nd 2012

2.   Go to www.iglax.org and click on the registration tab to SUBMIT uniform sizing & information.      

If you have an interest in being a ‘Parent Volunteer Coach,’ click on our volunteer tab on the website (www.iglax.org)-NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY!  Training classes available.

Please note:  The participant must bring the Recreation Department-paid receipt to the first day of the league as proof of payment.           

INTRO TO LACROSSE FOR GIRLS IN 1ST/2ND GRADE                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                           

This is a great way to learn the fundamentals of lacrosse. Lacrosse continues to be a growing sport and the recreation department continues to provide children that are interested in lacrosse a place to call home for both inexperienced and experienced players. The focus of this program is to teach sound lacrosse fundamentals and practice good sportsmanship in an environment where everybody plays. 

Practices/Scrimmage Games

All instruction is on Sundays, April 15th – June 9th from 1pm – 2:30pm (subject to change based on field availability) @ Spring Rock Park. (no class May 27th Memorial Day weekend)  T-shirt distribution first day of practice.  

  • Meets on Sundays starting April 15th to June 9th at Spring Rock Park ( time tbd)
  •  Picnic & Games June 10th.
  • Late fee of $20 after April 8th, 2012.
  • No refunds after April 8th.

Girls  equipment - Lacrosse stick, mouth and eye guards.
