TRAVEL LEAGUE FOR BOYS in Grades 3 to 8 Designed for the more competitive lacrosse player. Commitment to lacrosse program a must! The team is a group effort and the team counts on everyone's commitment. PracticesThe coaches will be working with the kids and observing skills on Jan 21st and Jan 28th. On Feb 4th the official evaluation of the kids will take place. Please remember to bring all equipment ( WS Helmet, shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves, athletic supporter/cup, and mouth-guard). The boys will need to have all their equipment to play. No cleats will be allowed at Darien Sportsplex, the boys will need to wear gym shoes or turf shoes. Please also remember to bring water. The boys will receive an assigned numbered Western Springs practice jersey, which will need to be worn to all practices (for the coaches to properly identify your son). We will have several coaches there if you have any questions. Teams will be determined after the Feb 4th evaluation tryouts. ** It is very important for all participants to be at all 3 of the above dates. Practices (1-2 days) begin outdoors in April at Spring Rock Park (days and times to be determined by coaches). GamesTravel Teams will play 10-14 home/away games for 4th thru 8th grade. All families are expected to participate as volunteers. There are many volunteer opportunities that are available and sign-up is available on Registration Days. A list of volunteer positions is available here. Volunteer buyout is $25.00. Volunteer Coaches Volunteer Coaches are needed!! No experience necessary. Newcomers encouraged!!! Don’t be intimidated—WILL TRAIN!!! Coaching Clinic provided.
